Removal for tree foundation damage
This was a job for a client for a Maple and Pear tree removal. The Maple tree was planted too close to the house. And, as such, it began to grow over the years and cause tree foundation damage. This affected the home and started to crack the foundation of the home. The Pear tree was splitting (probably from age and weather), and had a crack down the middle.
Our tree removal team removed both trees without further damage to the home. The homeowners were so happy with the results of our Mockingbird team’s work.

Roots can cause tree foundation damage. Essentially, the roots will affect the support of the foundation, and cause cracks and holes in the foundation. The roots of many types of trees are strong and will grow through the foundation. In the end, you wind up with a home’s foundation that has been structurally compromised.
In this case, the homeowner noticed several symptoms of tree foundation damage. Some of those symptoms could include:
- Cracked walls
- Cracked windows
- Vertical cracks in the floor
- Uneven door and window frames
- Floor buckling
While not a complete list of symptoms of tree foundation damage, these are a few to look out for.
In reality, foundation damage can be due to a variety of reasons. Often times, trees get the blame. It is not always the case. However, it is true in a lot of situations. That means you should have your home checked for tree foundation damage if you see signs. Including, having your trees inspected by a certified arborist.
Roof damage from trees
Overhanging branches can also damage a home’s roof. They can fall on a roof or scratch the roof, which will reduce the life of the roofing material (shingles, tiles, etc.).
In order to protect your home from trees that can damage your roof, you should keep them trimmed and remove any overhanging branches. Of course, this should be done by a licensed and trained tree company, since you want to ensure your home is protected, as well as your trees.
